Born in Montreal, David Schouela has been practicing meditation and yoga since 1995. He completed the Center for Mindfulness Teacher Development Intensive in MBSR in 2003 and the Spirit Rock 18- month Mindfulness Yoga and Meditation Training Program in 2009. David is a Kripalu Yoga instructor who currently teaches yoga at meditation retreats in Canada. He is a founder and director of the True North Insight Meditation Center, in Montreal, Canada.
Born in Colombia, South America, Zayda Vallejo completed her Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology at Loyola University in Chicago and a Master’s degree in Political Economics at Oxford University in England. She has been practicing meditation and yoga since 1978. She currently teaches the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program at the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care and Society, University of Massachusetts Medical School Worcester Campus. She also teaches the MBSR Practicum, a training program for the professionals aspiring to teach MBSR. In addition, she co-developed and currently teaches a Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention Program for women in addiction recovery for the Boston Public Health Commission. Over the years, she has taught mindfulness courses in a variety of settings including the Worcester Public Schools, the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy, the Council on Aging, the Head Start Program, the Garrison Institute in New York, and many others.
